Releases: KAWS x Air Jordan 4 Shoes (Black)

It now sounds like the black version (see gray version) of the KAWS x Air Jordan 4 collaboration will be released on Cyber Monday. Constructed in a black suede upper, the sneakers features the Brooklyn-based artist’s signature “XX” on the heel and hang tag, a Jumpman x KAWS logo on the insole, and a glow-in-the-dark outsole. Last weekend, Shepard Fairey (featured) graced his hometown with an expansive exhibition at a converted Chinatown warehouse (1650 Naud Street), his first showing in Los Angeles in nearly 10 years. Presented by Library Street Collective, Damaged featured over 200 artworks created since 2015 ranging in technique and medium. Releases: Scott Listfield – “Voltron” Prints

Painter Scott Listfield has released a series of prints based on five of his paintings that were recently shown at Rotofugi Gallery in Chicago. The body of work on display was created with the venue in mind as the space is also associated with a specialty toy store – which brings us back to these five prints. This Thursday night, November 14th, Tiffany Bozic’s newest solo show will open at Joshua Liner Gallery in New York. Entitled Spectrum, the new exhibition will feature 12 acrylic on maple panel works that highlight her skill with wood grain as well as deft use of negative place. Painting with her love for all creatures of the natural world, Bozic is able to capture the fragility of our ecosystem with her surreal compositions, eliciting a emotional response from the viewer. Streets: Mark Jenkins // Lodz Murals (Poland)

Recently in Poland, Mark Jenkins (interviewed) was invited in to create a series of seven installations for a public arts project curated by Michał Bieżyński – Lodz Murals. Working along Piotrkowska street, the American artist stationed a few pieces at ground level and left some that passersby had to look up to see. As per his usual practice, the works were riffs on the human form and their effectiveness hinged on the element of surprise and clever placement. Photo credit: Rafaà Tomczyk. Releases: James Jean – “Max Pipe” Print

James Jean (interviewed) will be releasing another signed and numbered time-limited print on November 14th, starting at 8 AM PST and ending after 24 hours. Entitled Max Pipe, the image is inspired by the painting Attirement of the Bride (La Toilette de la mariée) by Max Ernst. The enhancements (foil stamping, holographic foil, embossments) and dies required for this edition makes it one of Jean’s most complex offerings to date.
