Preview: James “Dalek” Marshall – “STABILIMENTUM” @ Hurley H SPACE Gallery

Tomorrow night (July 31st), in celebration of the US Open of Surfing 2012 (also see PUSH’s effort) and launch of the Phantom Fuse boardshort, Hurley presents STABILIMENTUM, an immersive new installation from James “Dalek” Marshall (interviewed). Releases: Futura x Hennessy VS Bottle Chase Pack @ Reed Space

Last night, Hennessy held a preview launch at New York’s Reed Space for their latest VS cognac bottle designed by Futura (seen here). This pop up event was announced via Hennessy’s twitter and exclusive to only the first 50 fans arriving at the location. Upcoming: Futura x Hennessy – VS Cognac Bottle

Remember earlier this year when AM visited Paris to catch Futura 2000 launch his solo exhibition? Well, that wasn’t the end of his affiliation with the country known for some of the best wines and brandies in the world as Hennessy will continue their artist collaboration (see their KAWS bottle) with the graffiti legend. Releases: Ron English – “American Depress” @ Kidrobot

Ron English (featured) recently created a new vinyl sculpture with toy maker Kidrobot for their ultra limited Kidrobot Black line. Entitled American Depress, the 12-inch figure depicts Ron’s version of a bloated Mickey Mouse ensnared in a Amex “Black Card” credit trap. Mr. English attended the launch event for a signing along with a meet and greet with fans at the KR’s New York location. Check out more photos below. Discuss Ron English here.    

Preview: Yayoi Kusama x Louis Vuitton Pop-Up Stores

It looks like Louis Vuitton is going all in with their new Infinitely Kusama collaborative line with Japanese avant-garde artist Yayoi Kusama. The French fashion house is planning seven special pop-up shops around the globe decorated with Kusama’s signature dot motif as well as her pumpkin sculptures to match her inspired clothing and products. The first store will open in New York on July 10th, two days before Kusama’s touring retrospective opens at the Whitney Museum. Releases: Parra x Kidrobot – “Pierced” Figure

On June 7th, Kidrobot will be releasing (in-store and online) a new figure from Dutch artist Parra entitled Pierced. The 10-inch vinyl sculpture is inspired by the melodramatic cover art of romance novels and based on imagery from his original silkscreen artwork. The entwined figures which demonstrate the simultaneous pain and pleasure that many experience while in love will set collectors back $150 and will be limited to an edition of 300. Via mashKULTURE.
