Releases: Kid Acne – ‘When the Smoke Clears’ Zine

AM got all enthused late last year over Kid Acne’s solo show (covered) at Concrete Hermit entitled When the Smoke Clears. For us, the defining part of the installation was the wall of small one-off screenprinted drawings in all their black and pink splendour. Well, if that monochromatic installation floats your boat, you can now thumb through the series of drawings in Kid Acne’s brand new When the Smoke Clears Zine. Produced with a screenprinted, embossed and numbered cover, the 52 page zine is available […]

Details: KAWS x Robert Lazzarini – “Distorted Companions”

In case you missed it yesterday, KAWS put up for sale his latest release – a set of collaboration figures with Robert Lazzarini. Unfortunately, they quickly sold out. But lucky for you, AM ran down the delivery man in order to provide a detailed look into the “Distorted Companion” figures (previewed). These jaw-dropping works blend KAWS’ iconic Companion with Lazzarini’s signature distortion treatment. The three figures were released each in three different colors: brown, gray, and black. Also, each Companion received a unique mold to […]

Following in a long line of elegantly produced Shepard Fairey exhibition catalogs, a new publication has just been unveiled to honor his historic creative outpouring that kicked off this past summer’s art season. While landmark in it’s own right as a result of the scope and scale of the effort, the instantly iconic show also served as an emphatic going out party for Deitch Projects, the game-changing gallery in a large part responsible for taking street art out of the shadows and into the limelight.
