Victori + Mo gallery in New York is currently showing Chaos and Wild Again by local artist Brian Willmont. Along with working with him on a solo exhibition, the gallery also recently successfully introduced his work with a booth at the Volta Art Fair during Armory Week in New York. The new work is based on combining the aspects of trompe l’oeil and airbrush in a unique style of graphic abstraction. At the end of last month, the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C. unveiled a portrait of actor Kevin Spacey painted by Jonathan Yeo that will be on view through October. The event featured an appearance by Yeo as well as Spacey in character as Frank Underwood in his role for Netflix’s hit series House of Cards, marking the first time a fictional president had a painting of them hung in the portrait gallery of the institution (although not in the hall of real presidential portraits). Damien Hirst – “Pharmacy 2” Restaurant

After collaborating with restaurants in the past by incorporating his artwork into the decor, Damien Hirst has taken things to a whole new level. A new eatery was open last month by the British artist (in partnership with Mark Hix) at the Newport Street Gallery in Vauxhall, London. During the day, the restaurant serves visitors of the ongoing exhibitions while at night, it feeds diners when the gallery is closed. Last month Slow Culture moved from LA’s Highland Park to Chinatown, and on March 4th, they opened the PDFW: Performance. Drawing. Film. Writing. group show by THE DFW crew. Previews: Will Cotton @ Orlando Museum of Art

This Saturday, March 12th, the Orlando Museum of Art will be opening a show featuring the sugary work of Will Cotton. The exhibition from the American painter known for his subjects adorned with desserts will feature oil paintings, preparatory drawings and sculptures revealing different stages of his creative process. Also on display will be at the New York-based artist’s interest in the printmaking process of stone lithography. Discuss Will Cotton here.

Last weekend, StolenSpace hosted the opening of Kai & Sunny’s (interviewed) latest solo show – Whirlwind Of Time. Their fourth showing with the gallery in London featured a series of vibrant and complex drawings of nature using their signature ballpoint pens and linear patterns. Along with the originals, they also released a new print edition and a series of four skate decks. Discuss Kai & Sunny here.

On March 4th, Johnson Trading Gallery in NYC hosted a Bill Brady event – a pop up show by Tomoo Gokita. Coinciding with Armory Week, the show titled On Paper includes smaller works on paper by the renowned Japanese artist. The 12 pieces in the show are all figurative black and white pieces based on vintage portrait images, similar to the ones he presented with the gallery in Miami last December (covered).
