Releases: Kevin Cyr – “4 Queens” Print

Kevin Cyr recently released a print through Dynamo Editions entitled 4 Queens in a low edition of 25 featuring some of his signature distressed and graffiti covered vehicles. Interestingly enough as you can see from the photos below, the van started blank before the Brooklyn-based artist starts his hand embellishing process. The print is sized at 16 x 20″ and costs $375 here for those interested in adding it to their collection. Discuss Kevin Cyr here.

Opening last Thursday at Joseph Gross Gallery was Night & Day, an exhibition featuring the work of 9 multi-disciplinary artists: Lucinda Grange, Erik Otto, Jason Peters, LaLa Abaddon, Boris Ipsum, George Kroenert, Will Penny, Dave Singley, and Eric Ruggiero. The show, which was conceived, organized, and curated by the gallery’s director Lynzy Blair, centers on pieces that have dual lives, one in daylight and one in darkness. This week, we saw the release of Hennessy’s annual artist designed VS cognac bottle, tapping contemporary & tattoo artist Scott Campbell for the new look. Athens’ Dio Horia gallery recently hosted Taylor McKimens in their one month long residency program where he created a whole new series of paintings that are currently on view. Swapping Paint continues his recent Stoic Youth show (covered), which also explored his take on Hellenistic art. On September 10th, Jeff Soto (interviewed) will be returning to Jonathan LeVine Gallery in New York for another solo show. Entitled The Sotofish Society, the exhibition will see the Southern California-based artist re-exploring some of the past elements of his work including yetis, reapers, robots, landscapes, antlers, geometric shapes, and of course the iconic Sotofish! Last week, KAWS announced his latest project, a collaboration with Nancy Gonzalez on a handbag collection. Continuing his foray into the fashion world (also see Uniqlo & Mira Mikati), the Brooklyn-based artist lent his iconic double x’s to the Colombian designer known for her handbags of exotic leathers and brightly colored hues. Releases: Eddie Martinez x Case Studyo – “Untitled” Handwoven Rug

Tomorrow at noon on their website, Case Studyo will be releasing a handwoven woolen rug based on one of Eddie Martinez’s paintings from 2015.
