Basel Week Miami ’16: Scope Art Fair

One of the highly anticipated satellite fairs every year during Basel Week Miami for us is the Scope Art Fair. Currently in in town for Basel Week Miami, Audrey Kawasaki (interviewed) is in the process of painting a pretty sweet mural at the Hotel of South Beach. Already at it for the last 5 days, the Los Angeles-based artist hopes to complete the wall featuring one of her seductive females by tomorrow. Basel Week Miami ’16 / Upcoming: Tim Biskup – “The Dog” Art Bar

For this year’s Basel Week Miami, Tim Biskup (featured) will be working on a project called The Dog. (1306 North Miami Ave). The bar, dancehall, and art gallery rolled into one will feature site-specific work from the Southern California-basd artist outside and inside the space with artwork and editions available for those interested. Continuing his Whole Glory project, Scott Campbell will be bringing the concept to Basel Week Miami at the Juxtapoz Clubhouse (2400 NW 5th Street). The idea behind project (supported by Milk), which has already been successfully held to London, New York, and Los Angeles, is not for the faint of heart. A couple of weekends ago, Thinkspace hosted Stella Im Hultberg’s (interviewed) new show in their project room concurrently with Audrey Kawasaki’s solo in the main space. Last Thursday, Joshua Liner Gallery held an opening reception for the New York showspace’s solo exhibition with Parra. The world recognized artist and designer presented a new series of twelve works on canvas, ink drawings, and sculpture, collectively titled No Work Today. Following up on his first Adrift print release, James Jean (interviewed) will be releasing the Adrift II print starting tomorrow morning (November 21st) at 8:00 AM PST. The time-limited edition will be available for 24 hours and will never be reprinted after this release. Tomorrow morning (November 21st) at 8am PST, Porterhouse will be releasing two editions from Mark Ryden (interviewed) featuring the image from his Queen Bee painting.
