Basel Week Miami ’16 / Streets: Shepard Fairey @ Mana Wynwood Convention Center

It looks like Shepard Fairey (featured) has just completed one of the murals he had planned for Basel Week Miami. Entitled Fruits Of Our Labor, the wall at the Mana Wynwood Convention Center features Shep’s distinctive imagery and satire. Basel Week Miami ’16 / Showing: Audrey Kawasaki @ Hotel of South Beach

Currently in in town for Basel Week Miami, Audrey Kawasaki (interviewed) is in the process of painting a pretty sweet mural at the Hotel of South Beach. Already at it for the last 5 days, the Los Angeles-based artist hopes to complete the wall featuring one of her seductive females by tomorrow. Upcoming: Lazarides’ Banksy Print Gallery @ Mondrian Hotel (London)

Tomorrow (December 2nd) in London, Lazarides will be opening a Banksy Print Gallery at the Mondrian Hotel. Specializing in selling limited editions from the infamous street artist on the secondary market, the space in South Bank will also feature a collection of photographs as well as ephemera from that period of time. Basel Week Miami ’16 / Releases: KAWS – “PIRANHAS WHEN YOU’RE SLEEPING” Print @ Pace Prints

Those who walked by the Pace Prints booth at Art Basel Miami Beach (covered) may have been surprised to see a new print available from KAWS. Entitled PIRANHAS WHEN YOU’RE SLEEPING, the image is taken from a piece the Brooklyn-based artist painted for a show back in 2014 in the Caribbean (covered). Basel Week Miami ’16 / Upcoming: Jose Parla – “Roots” @ YoungArts Jewel Box

Another must-see show to add to your Basel Week Miami itinerary is Jose Parla’s site specific installation at the YoungArts Jewel Box (2100 Biscayne Boulevard). Entitled Roots, the commissioned paintings and sculpture are part of the Rolls-Royce art program and will see the Brooklyn-based Cuban-American artist’s return to the locale of his formative years in the 1980s and early 90s.
