Releases: Ron English – “Temporal Boxing Brain”

Earlier this month, Ron English (featured) intruded something new produced by ToyQube entitled Temporal Boxing Brain. Based on one of the NY-based artist’s paintings, the sculptural release is a good example of his wit as well as penchant for creative remixing of common items and pop culture. On June 6th, Inner State Gallery will be opening a new group show in Detroit entitled LAX / DTW. Previews: Scott Musgrove – “Wilder” @ Jonathan LeVine Gallery

Tomorrow night in New York, Scott Musgrove (featured) will be making a return to Jonathan LeVine Gallery for his third solo there. Entitled Wilder, the new paintings, drawings and sculptures from the Seattle-based artist continues his longstanding series of works that explore mythical creatures that are now extinct. Although Musgrove’s imagery holds an element of whimsy and humor, he is nonetheless sincere in his focus on issues of conservation and his concern with the rate of extinction of endangered species in our world. Studio Visits / Previews: Cyrcle. – “Nothing Exists” @ Station16 Gallery

Coming up in a few weeks, the Cyrcle. (featured) crew will be opening a new show at the Station16 Gallery in Montreal. It looks like Rabz & Davey’s artistic journey has taken a philosophical turn with this new batch of work collectively entitled Nothing Exists. Showing: Invader – “Wipe Out” @ The Qube (Hong Kong)

Showing through the end of this weekend is a show entitled Wipe Out from Invader in Hong Kong at The Qube, PMQ (35 Aberdeen Street, Central). The title of the exhibition is in reference to the extremely efficient and quick removal of 90% of his famed tiled creations from the streets of the metropolis by cleaning crews after getting up earlier there this year (here & here). Releases: Luke Chueh x Common Artist Project Apparel

Continuing to spread his iconic sad bear imagery, Luke Chueh (interviewed) recently collaborated with Common Artist Project on a collection of clothing. Featuring a limited edition run of Pullovers, Rib Muscle Tanks, Short Sleeve Tees entitled “Bolt,” the line of clothing with the pink lightning bolt and his most famous character is a homage to Ziggy Stardust. On May 22nd, Shepard Fairey (featured) will be returning to Detroit for the first time in over a decade for a solo at Library Street Collective. Printed Matters is a continuous series of exhibitions which focuses on the importance of printed material in the Los Angeles-based artist’s oeuvre. Previews / Setup: Clemens Behr – Variety of (N)one @ Mirus Gallery

This weekend, Berlin based artist Clemens Behr opens his first US solo exhibition at Mirus Gallery. Variety of (N)one will feature Behr’s trademark installation-based artworks following a month’s residency with the San Francisco space and will extensively feature materials gathered by the artist from the recent remodelling of the building which houses the gallery.
