Releases: Escif – “Elsewhere” Book

After a couple of months in the making, Escif just launched an Indiegogo campaign, raising funds for his upcoming book release. Elsewhere is a hardcover book that is set to be released in February 2015, in an edition of 1000 pieces, each hand-finished and signed. The book will be focused on his last five years – from mandatory murals and interventions around the world, to sketches, drawings, ideas, feelings, recipes, deep secrets and everyday life thoughts. Nychos was another street artist that made his mark during this year’s Basel Week Miami with multiple murals. This particular project on the facade of the Miami Ad School in the Wynwood features two flamingos in the Austrian artists’ s usual dissected style, a welcome addition to the neighborhood with this long necked species being one of the most recognizable in the state. Roq La Rue welcomed back one of the gallery favorites John Brophy to a packed house on December 4th. Tonight in Los Angeles, Kevin Peterson will be opening his second solo show (see 2012) with Thinkspace Gallery bringing with him a new body of work entitled Remnants. The Houston-based artist’s portraiture sets the innocence of his subjects and their animal companions against oftentimes desolate urban backgrounds. This contrasting overlap of two different worlds places his characters in a narrative where their courage and strength can shine through.
