Releases: Amy Sol – “Beacon” & “Aquilon’s Valley” Prints

Later today (2 pm PST), Amy Sol (interviewed) will be releasing two new prints on her online store. Beacon (seen above) is based on an painting that showed last year in Miami (covered) and the original of the Aquilon’s Valley image (seen below) was included in a group show earlier this year (covered). Both limited editions will be in a run of 25, be sized at 15″ x 15″, and cost $100 Discuss Amy Sol here.

David Choe Visits Afghanistan For Juxtapoz

David Choe (featured) recently travelled to Afghanistan with some of his friends, including Estevan Oriol who handled the photography for the trip. His adventures were documented in his own words in the latest issue of Juxtapoz and was an interesting read, to say the least, so pick up a copy if you can. Releases: Kent Williams – “OPHTHALM” Book

For those of you who liked the work created for Kent Williams’ show in Los Angeles back in 2011 (covered), he now has a new book with plenty of his paintings of that style gracing it’s pages. In addition, the 12″ x 12″ hardcover (160 pages) features pages from his sketchbook including side by side comparisons of studies and the paintings they became. Head over here to order if interested. Streets: Ludo – “Mutant With Eagle Head” (Paris)

Ludo (interviewed) recently finished this huge mural in the 13th arrondissement of Paris, also known as arrondissement des Gobelins, titled Mutant With Eagle Head. As usual, the French artist has created another one of his signature mutant characters. These are strongly influenced by the flyers and skate deck imagery from the late 80’s early 90’s that the artist grew up with. Instead of going towards nano levels, the artist reversed the process a bit, and the result is this giant butterfly mutant, with scorpio like tail, humanoid rib cage […]

Openings: Kevin Earl Taylor – “Monument Adrift” @ Breeze Block Gallery

Earlier this month, the Breeze Block Gallery played host to a new show from Kevin Earl Taylor entitled Monument Adrift. The exhibition feature his landscapes that include various creatures which are almost treated architecturally in some instances, placed on pedestals, incorporated into decaying structures, or portrayed as building blocks.
