At 10am on Monday, Feb 9th, the mural painting part of POW! WOW! Hawaii 2015 officially begun with a traditional Hawaiian blessing ceremony at the Lana Lane headquarters in Kaka’ako in Honolulu. On February 7th, the Jonathan LeVine Gallery closed their month long solo debut by street artist Saner. Titled Primitivo, the show included a whole new body of work created especially for this occassion, all strongly influenced by rich culture of his homeland. Releases: VNA #29 (LA)

VNA Magazine just announced the release info about their newest issue #29. With Cleon Petersen as their cover artist, they picked his hometown of LA to celebrate the launch. The event will be held at Subliminal Projects, this Valentines Day, Saturday Feb. 14th, between 6-9pm. This issue features an extensive report on Peterson and his violently bacchanalian work that echoes the brutality he sees in society. Along with mural painting that started off today and a museum show with Thinkspace Gallery (covered), one of the central events of POW! WOW! Hawaii is the print exhibition organized in collaboration with 1xRun.com. For their 3rd annual show they scheduled 30+ limited edition print releases featuring most of the artists from this year POW! Showing: Isaac Cordal – “Moments de solitude” @ Spacejunk

Last week, Spacejunk in Bayonne, France presented new works from Isaac Cordal in an exhibition entitled Moments de solitude. For this showing, the Brussel-based artist created installations for the indoor space that mirror the pieces he usually leaves in the streets. These sculptural interventions, which he calls Cement Eclipses, consist of tiny middle-aged men in suits who navigate dreary, oppressive environments pointing out the how we are slaves to consumerism, funded by lives of drudgery. A couple weekends ago, Urban Nation continued their ongoing arts program in Berlin with a new show curated by Henrik Haven & Olly Walker entitled CUT IT OUT!. Last night, POW! WOW! Hawaii kicked things off with a group show curated by Thinkspace at the Honolulu Museum Of Art School (111 Victoria Street). Streets: Aaron Li-Hill (Los Angeles)

Tomorrow night (February 7th) in Los Angeles, Aaron Li-Hill will be presenting a new body of work at the C.A.V.E. Gallery in Los Angeles entitled Carbon. Focusing this time on his series portraying themes of man versus nature, in particular habitats threatened by the effects of industrialization, he has mirrored the new paintings with an impressive new mural.
