Openings: PUSH – “In Other Words” @ Known Gallery

Los Angeles-based artist PUSH, who we last saw in Orange County painting a mural during the US Open of Surfing, opened a show at the Known Gallery on Saturday night. In Other Words features a set of new works on canvas, wood panel, paper that mirror the MSK-affiliated writer’s outdoor work of vibrant grids and patterns with a geometric network of colors. Preview: KAWS – “Imaginary Friends” @ Galerie Perrotin (Paris)

Coming up next month (November 3rd), Galerie Perrotin will be presenting new works from KAWS in a solo show entitled Imaginary Friends. Showing: TrustoCorp – “International Bank of TrustoCorp” @ The Outsiders Gallery (Newcastle)

Earlier this month, the street collective TrustoCorp made their debut outside of the USA with a showing at Newcastle-based Outsiders gallery entitled International Bank of TrustoCorp. Bringing their special form of satire and political commentary, the crew put on display a series of works that transformed the gallery into a counterfeit counting house that examined the power of currency. Releases: Snoopy Ceramic (KAWS Version)

Tomorrow at noon (Octeber 22nd Eastern time), KAWS will be releasing something for his fans out there to celebrate Halloween. Reprising his collaboration with the popular Snoopy (see 2011), the ceramic jar will be available for approximately $132 on Kawsone. Also, for all those KAWS heads out there, remember the street turned contemporary artist will be participating in another holiday next month in this year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade with a 40-foot-long balloon of his companion character. On November 8th, the Carmichael Gallery will be presenting Like Father, Like Son : NYC at a popup space in New York (6 to 8pm, 303 Tenth Ave in Chelsea). Streets: JR – “I Am a Man” Mural / Unframed Project (Washington, D.C.)

French photographer and street activist JR, who was just featured in a video for the new MOCAtv channel, was also recently in Washington, D.C. working on a mural for his Unframed Project where he takes archived images and uses them in a different context.
