Streets: Liqen (Spain)

Recently, the Mexico-based Liqen travelled to Galicia, Spain to get some work in. One of the resulting murals was this stunning new piece featuring the legend of the white boar, with some of his signature surreal touches thrown in. What stood out for us was not must the detailed execution, but also the beautiful lush palette he utilized. Check out more detailed pics below… Discuss Liqen here.

Last week, the Galerie Itinerrance in Paris put new works from LUDO (interviewed) on display in a show entitled Metal Militia all executed with splashes of his signature green tinge. Other pieces featured LUDO’s Co-branding series and his commentary on public advertising. Discuss LUDO here.

Openings: Bäst – “Germs Tropicana” @ Opera Gallery (NYC)

Last week, the Opera Gallery hosted an opening for a rare solo from Bäst at their New York location entitled Germs Tropicana. The show featured somewhat of a new direction for the Brooklyn-based street artist as he delivered pieces that were dense with his collage-style imagery, some of which were circular in nature. Teeming with his signature pop iconography, they resembled giant petri dishes – hence the title of the show. Along with his collaboration with Greek olive oil brand Eléia, rounding out the exhibition were a series of gun sculptures. Photo credit: Joe Russo for Arrested […]

He enlisted the help of the local Spanish people who posed in his studio to have their silhouettes traced for the project.  Check the video and more photos […]
