Openings: Prime – “Not For Sale” @ Loft In Space

Hawaii-based graffiti writer Prime just had an opening entitled Not For Sale at Honolulu’s Loft In Space. You may remember his gorgeous peacock mural at this year’s Pow Wow back in February. This time, he exhibited a fresh set of large works including a crisply painted ride. As always Prime’s dope images aren’t just skin deep, his style masks a thoughtful view into the social and artistic lives on the islands of Hawaii. The show runs until September 10th, so check it out if you […]

Streets: INSA (Hong Kong)

While in Hong Kong for his show at Above Second (covered), INSA found plenty of time for two of his loves, eating and painting. For some of the murals (like the one above), he collaborated with local artist Xeme, whose Chinese calligraphy were tributes to the now deceased Hong Kong OG graffiti legend, Tsang Tsaou Choi, aka “King of Kowloon”. More pics INSA sent us after the jump…

Os Gemeos for Back2Black Festival (Brazil)

It looks like the twins are back in their home country after showing in Los Angeles, Italy, and Germany. As usual, when Osgemeos get involved in a project, they like to go big. This “balloon head” installation, something we have never seen before, was put together for the Back2Black Festival (August 27-29) in Rio de Janeiro featuring, music, art, discussion, debate, expositions, culture and shows that showcase all the influences of African culture in Brazil. More photos after the jump…

Openings: “Summer Group Exhibition 2011” @ Joshua Liner Gallery

A little while back, AM caught the opening of Joshua Liner’s annual Summer Group Exhibtion. Some artists new to the NY gallery like Chloe Early, Evelyn Rydz, Herbert Baglione and Greg Lamarche joined the ranks of the gallery regulars such as Damon Soule, Dave Kinsey, David Ellis, Evan Hecox, Oliver Vernon, Pema Rinzin, Ryan McLennan, Shawn Barber, Stephen Powers, Tiffany Bozic, Tomokazu Matsuyama and Tony Curanaj. The exhibition not only gave us a sense of the quality works that we’ve come to expect from the Joshua’s space, but also […]

Streets: TrustoCorp (LA) Part 2

Besides their reality bus stop ad campaign in Los Angeles, TrustoCorp also decided to make their statement on Hollywood. Many of you know that entertainment industry is one of the important attractions of LA and at the center of Tinseltown is it’s famous Walk of Fame on Hollywood Blvd (also parodied by D*Face a while back). Between Hollywood and Vine, more than 2400 stars have been given along the 15 block length. What you may not know is the actual boulevard runs almost 5 miles […]

Teaser: Bast – “Scenario Del Rio” @ The Outsiders – Newcastle

As a regular collaborator with Faile (see Los Angeles, Brooklyn, Deluxx Fluxx Arcade), Brooklyn-based Bast hasn’t had many solo projects recently. All that will change next month as he will be unveiling a new solo exhibition in the UK at The Outsiders in Newcastle. The new body of work is entitled Scenario Del Rio and with the showcard sporting an intriguing image, we’ll be looking forward to seeing what he has planned for his fans. Discuss Bast here.

Streets: T&J Art Walk (Oslo) Part III

It’s time to summarize the remaining murals for the T&J Art Walk now after bringing you the walls from Faile, Shepard Fairey, D*Face, and Logan Hicks previously. The other artists involved include The London Police, who threw up the sick piece above, as well as Will Barras, Fenx, Martin Whatson, and Gallo. Keep in mind, the reason behind this event in Oslo was to support of the Human Rights Watch (HRW) and to honor those slain and injured of the terror attack of July 22. We’ll also be bringing you […]

Streets: TrustoCorp (LA) Part 1

Judging from the pictures TrustoCorp sent us, the plan was to take their reality show street satires bi-coastal. The only difference was in New York, they hit up pay phone ads (covered) and in Los Angeles, they used bus bench interventions. You can see a peek of part two of the campaign on the west coast on the sidewalk sticking out behind the benches. We’ll have more on that later but for now, check out more pics of the Somali Shore, Real Housewives of Baghdad, […]
