Shark Toof debuted his first ever solo show with Culver City’s LeBasse Projects at Beyond Eden this past weekend. The prolific street artist mounted a visual assault utilizing his array of signature imagery, including sharks, cigarette boxes, comics and monsters. Using materials such as wood, spray cans, boxes, found materials and books, the artist filled nearly the entire space with art work. We at AM have been following Bumblebee’s work for a long time now and are now happy to provide coverage of his first ever solo exhibition. The buzzing and buzzed-about artist treated the Beyond Eden crowd to imagery of bees, children, environmental awareness and the joys of childhood, in an installation and collection of works that included sculpture and paintings. Remember the Koons dog piece Banksy put up in April as part of the LA premiere of his documentary? Well, you knew it would only be a matter of time before he took on another famous canine – the Haring dog! Take another look at this piece as well as a couple other new pieces in London, a take on The Clash’s London Calling cover and a robot box head piece after the jump… Guess the Simpsons project didn’t take up all his time.
