Nuart ’10: Blu & Ericailcane

It looks like this year’s Nuart Festival is finally underway in Norway. Blu continues his collaborations with big names, this time with Bologna based Ericailcane on the same building. Together, they take aim like other artists (Os Gemeos, Todd Schorr) at an easy target – the massive oil spill by BP in the Gulf of Mexico. Ironically, Stavanger is currently hosting ONS, one of the world’s largest oil and energy industry conferences. Keep it locked on AM as Vhils, ROA, Dolk, Evol, Alexandros Vasmoulakis, Sten […]

If you remember, the piece was first seen in his solo show at the Montana Shop & Gallery back in June (covered). Pedro has graciously decided to giveaway one the AP’s for this print to one of our readers. Just leave a comment at the end of this post or on our facebook on what your interpretation of the crown in the painting is and […]

Streets: Shepard Fairey – New York City Recap (Part 2)

In second part of our Shepard Fairey NY street coverage (first part here), AM’s man on the street Joe Russo tours the concrete jungle with the Obey crew on a few stealthy late-night sessions. Under the cloak of darkness and working in virtual silence, it’s always interesting to see how the crew unwinds after brutal daylight campaigns of mural building at “legal” spots. Of course, these pieces are created in the most prominent locations and always done in good taste with consideration to other urban artworks. We also trekked […]

Releases: KAWS – “Pinocchio & Jiminy Cricket” Figures

When we first confirmed the imminent release of KAWS’ Pinocchio & Jiminy Cricket figures back in June, we didn’t have any details yet as to the price or date of release. If you remember, these were first seen at the fantastic retrospective the Dos Sequis drinking artist put on at the Aldrich Contemporary in Connecticut. Well, now word is these will be released at the OriginalFake store in Tokyo on August 28th for approximately $200 with other associated retailers getting their shipment a couple weeks […]

Streets: Know Hope in Croatia

Street poet Know Hope, who recently tried his hand at trainwriting in Croatia, apparently also left his mark on the walls there. This mural piece also had some sculptural elements which the Israel-based artist has been known to include in both his outdoor and indoor work. A closer look after the jump…

Videos: Jeff Soto – “Off The Wall”

While Jeff Soto (featured) was in NY, Friends With You visited with him and caught some footage of a wall mural he was working on. Jeff was in town for his solo show “Life Cycle” (covered) at Jonathan LeVine Gallery and talks on camera about his background, the creative process behind the show, his future plans, and much more. Discuss Jeff Soto here.

Roa Mural for VNA Magazine

Remember that mural AM witnessed going up last month by Roa for the cover of Very Nearly Almost Issue 12 (release party coverage)? Well, for those who haven’t seen the magazine yet, the mural actually had multiple anatomical layers that the Belgian street artist is famous for including the skeletal, circulatory, and neural systems. Take a look at all the pics posted by VNA boys in all their glory after the jump…

Streets: Nick Walker – “Dopey” in Paris

Our friend Nick Walker (interviewed) is at it again, this time in France. He sent us some pics of the latest piece entitled “Dopey”. It’s his little twist on what he calls the “Dwarfs.” This is Nick’s most recent work on the streets of Paris since his Le Coran-can. Nice little tag there Nick, wonder what’s coming next? Update: The location is rue Oberkampf situated in the 11th district (Croisement et de St Maur dans le 11ème) next to La place verte. It’s created with support from the LeMur Association. Check […]
