Streets: Aryz (Munich)

Prolific street muralist Aryz is back in action with a new wall painted in Germany. The new piece was arranged by Positive-Propoganda, a non-profit art association based in Munich, which is dedicated to establishing contemporary and socio-political art in urban spaces. Ruttkowski;68 and Art Is Just a Four Letter Word opened a group show “Three” in Cologne, Germany, at DQE in Heliosstr. The idea of the show is to show the diversities and similarities between three artists from different geographic backgrounds, with three signature styles, united by a common environment – graffiti. Upcoming / Streets: JR @ Contemporary Art Center (Cincinnati)

Along with a show coming up in London, French “photograffeur” JR (interviewed) also will be opening a solo museum exhibition soon at the Contemporary Arts Center in Cincinnati. The show officially opens on September 21 (more details on the schedule and associated activities here) and will feature wheatpasted images, photography, video projections, sculpture, as well as the famous mobile phone booth which has been spreading the street artist’s Inside Out love. Streets: Mark Jenkins (Cologne)

American street artist Mark Jenkins (interviewed) recently visited Cologne in Germany where he created some new work for CityLeaks Festival at Ruttkowski;68 Gallery atelier. With a help of his collaborator, Sandra Fernandez, the artist created six new, site specific works that were than placed to different locations around town. Streets: Phlegm (USA)

After participating in couple of street art festivals all over Europe, British muralist and artist Phlegm recently visited the East Coast of US. During his visit, he painted three huge murals, each quite different than the others, but all so recognizable and unique. The first one he did was in collaboration with the Bushwick Collective, on Troutman Street in Brooklyn. Nuart ’13: Part III – Vhils

As part of our ongoing coverage (Part I & Part II) of this year’s Nuart Festival (see previous years), we now have some photos of a new piece from Vhils. Choosing from his extensive repertoire of techniques (also see recent torn paper mural in Phlly), the Portugal-based artist went with his tried and true chiseled look with this image of a face he etched into the side of a building.
