ESPO & Faile for New York Magazine

For those of you who have seen the annual “Best of New York” issue from New York Magazine at the newsstands, you may or may not have recognized the design. This year’s cover artist is none other than Steve “ESPO” Powers. Like the WK Interact cover for Wired Magazine that didn’t end up happening, sometimes it’s nice to see what could have been. Tonight in Los Angeles at Taschen, fans of Mark Ryden will have a chance to check out his newest book in person as well as get it signed by the man himself. The impressive publication, Pinxit, is a comprehensive 366 page survey of Ryden’s 20 year career and is currently available as the Collector’s Edition of 1,000 ($1000). Book Signing: 3D Art Book Signing @ Chateau Marmont

Late last month, four members of the arts community came together at the Chateau Marmont for a special book signing event featuring 3D Art Book. Tristan Eaton,  Shepard Fairey, James Jean, and Gary Baseman were in attendance to sign the book for both fans of the book and of their work. Update: Candice Tripp

Painter Candice Tripp has been working on the image for her next print release. As you can see, this screenprint will be generous in size and will include a subset of hand-finished editions. It will be produced through Black Rat Projects, where the UK-based artist will have a solo showing in June. She has also been working on some illustrations for a story written by Gogol Bordello.
