Releases: PichiAvo – “Hybrid Psyche” Edition

Today through APPortfolio, PichiAv has released a new sculptural edition entitled Hybrid Psyche. The series of 250 pieces featuring the Spanish duo’s signature Urban Mythology style that mixes their depiction of greco-roman marble figures with graffiti. The three-diminional representation of the pair’s work were all lined up on a wall over which they sprayed a mural with their signature palette. Basel Week Miami ’18 / First Look: Art Basel

This week, the art world congregated in Miami once again for Art Basel week. Taking center stage was of course the main fair featuring 200 of the world’s leading galleries displaying artworks by over 4,000 artists. Visitors were able to enjoy a wide range of works including paintings, sculptures, installations, photographs, films, and editioned works – here are just a few of the pieces that caught our eyes including a wall of Ai Weiwei fingers. Last week in Bangkok, Felipe Pantone unveiled an immersive installation at the Siam Center entitled W3-DIMENSIONAL Park. For his first showing in Thailand, the Argentinian-Spanish artist created a sculptural representation of his special form of glitch effects and optical art that transports viewers into the digital world. The title of the piece references the three dimensional aspect of the World Wide Web (divs, tables, and iframes) and includes four original pieces that are part of some recent projects. Although in Miami for his now open show (covered), Vhils (interviewed) also has something going on for his fans at home. Hajime Sorayama x Dior – “Pre-Fall 2019 Menswear Show”

Thursday night in Tokyo, Hajime Sorayama took his signature fembots to the next level with a 39-foot-tall sculpture that took center stage for Dior’s pre-fall 2019 menswear show, towering over the laser-lit catwalk. Creative director Kim Jones’ second collection for the European luxury goods company follows in the artistic footsteps of his debut effort where he tapped KAWS to create a 32-foot-tall statue made of flowers for the Spring/Summer 2019 campaign. Next Monday (December 3rd) at 12 Noon EST, Daniel Arsham will be releasing a new sculptural edition. Last night in Japan, NANZUKA opened Javier Calleja’s first solo show in Tokyo at their space in Shibuya.
