Basel Week Miami ’13 / Previews: Tracey Emin – “Angel Without You” @ Miami Museum of Contemporary Art

As we march towards this year’s Art Basel Week in Miami, we’ll continue highlighting some events you may want to attend if you will be in the area. Next up is an exhibition from Tracey Emin’s entitled Angel Without You at the Miami Museum of Contemporary Art North Miami, the first American museum to add one of the English artist’s work to their permanent collection. Street muralist and fine artist, Ericailcane, opened his solo museum show at Museum of Contemporary Art in Bogota on the 23rd of November. Openings: KAWS “UPS AND DOWNS” @ Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art

Over the weekend, the Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art in Kansas City opened up a new show from KAWS entitled UPS AND DOWNS. The NY-based artist has been on a roll recently (also see PAFA, BAM, MTV, Basel, Tokyo) and it looks like he still has a couple more high profile shows scheduled before the end of the year. Today, the Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art in Kansas City will be hosting KAWS’ new show titled UPS AND DOWNS. The exhibition will be featuring select works previously unseen. This past weekend the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA) opened its doors to unveil the much anticipated exhibition by KAWS. The show featured 70 works (old & new) at the historic institution and included both paintings and sculptures that spans some major milestones of the artist’s storied career to date. Previews: “Risqué {dirty little pictures}” @ Long Beach Museum of Art

On Thursday night, September 19th, the Long Beach Museum of Art will host the opening of a new group exhibition entitled Risqué {dirty little pictures}.
