Following up on news of his recent album cover with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kevin Peterson will be opening an exhibition on August 20th at Thinkspace Gallery in Culver City. Entitled Sovereign, the solo from the Houston-based artist will be hosted in the main space. Releases: Paco Pomet – “Habia Una Vez (Once Upon a Time)” Print

Award winning printer Christian M. Walter recently released a new limited edition by Spanish artist Paco Pomet whose work often touching on environmental issues and human behavior. For this project, the Andalucian painter chose Habia Una Vez (Once Upon a Time), a painting that was included in last year’s Dismaland event by Banksy (covered) and kept by him for his personal collection. Argentinian artist Elian Chali recently released his book entitled Hábitat. The softcover publication was released in edition of 1000 and it includes 208 pages with photographs, three essays and a foreword written by Martha Cooper (interviewed). Upcoming: Zevs – “The Big Oil Splash” @ Lazarides Rathbone

On July 28th, Lazarides Rathbone will be presenting new works from Zevs in a solo show entitled The Big Oil Splash. Included from the French artist, otherwise known as Aguirre Schwarz, will be a series of paintings, monochromes and sculpture featuring his iconic drips and thematically referencing oil spills. He further states – “Ecology is at the heart of this new work. But it was paint, not politics. The work of man on earth extends here in a work of painting on canvas.” Discuss Zevs here.

Releases: Josh Keyes – “Guardian” Print

Coming up on August 8th, Josh Keyes (interviewed) will be releasing a new Artist Collectable archival print on wood entitled Guardian. Produced in an edition of 250, it will measure 9”x12”x1 5/8″ and come in a satin black frame. The price will be $250 so head over here if you are interested in adding it to your collection. Showing: FriendsWithYou – “Light Wave” @ Santa Monica Pier

Currently showing at the Santa Monica Pier through September 8th (7-10pm on Thursdays) is a new installation from FriendsWithYou. Light Wave is the collective’s largest installation to date and was created in partnership with the iconic pier’s Twilight Concert Series as well as Snapchat. The huge inflatables and play with light creates a magical setting for beachgoers enjoy through the rest of summer. Discuss FriendsWithYou here.
