Interviews/Showing: eL Seed – ‘Tabula Rasa’ @ Lazinc

Recently in London, eL Seed opened his first UK show called Tabula Rasa at Lazinc. The featured works draw together ideas and influences from many of the projects that the French-Tunisian artist has been working on around the world over the last seven years. The exhibition’s title references the epistemological concept that the human mind starts as a blank slate and that our reason and knowledge come from our own experiences, rather than anything innately inside us from birth. The social constructs within which we live […]

Upcoming: Oli Epp – “Contactless” @ Richard Heller Gallery

March 16th will mark the US solo debut of Oli Epp with a showing with Richard Heller Gallery in Los Angeles entitled Contactless. The new body of work is so named because of the London-based artist’s act of painting (use of airborne paint and limited touch), but also speaks to the modern world’s detachment from social contact as we become more dependent on technology to serve our needs. Epp’s imagery looks to the darker side of everyday life, with recognizable brands of consumerism ever present, and a […]

Entitled The Remediators, the Boston-based artist’s new surreal wildlife paintings were inspired the idea of bioremediation – in which plants, animals or microorganisms break down contamination in soil or water. Morway further states – “I have a deep love for wildlife and an acute terror about the increasing imbalances in our ecosystems and the cavalier destruction caused by human industry. […]

Tonight, Aya Takano is opening her first solo with Galerie Perrotin in New York with a show consisting of eight oil paintings, more than 50 drawings, one skateboard deck painting, and one paper clay sculpture.
