Showing: Frieze Sculpture Park (London)

Along with the launch of Frieze Art Week in London was the opening of the Frieze Sculpture Park, curated by Clare Lilley, Director of Programme at Yorkshire Sculpture Park. Located in the beautiful surroundings of the English Garden, the display of work features contemporary sculptures alongside historical pieces, with new works by both established and emerging artists represented by Frieze London and Frieze Masters exhibitors. Today and tomorrow in Brooklyn, Elbow-Toe (interviewed) will be participating in the Gowanus Open Studios. Openings: Ludo – ‘The Chaos Theory’ @ Lazarides Rathbone

Following our recent studio visit, AM attended the opening for the solo exhibition of Ludo (interviewed) entitled The Chaos Theory at Lazarides Rathbone. Live butterflies were fluttering during the event in London, much to the delight of onlookers. Inspired by the theory of “The Butterfly Effect,” the French artist decided to focus on a more personal interpretation of his cultural inspirations with a selection of neon green and monochrome canvases. Last week, just prior to the opening of the Frieze Art Fair in London, the Paul Stolper Gallery hosted the opening for a new solo from Damien Hirst. Openings: CT Nelson – “Thick With Instinct” @ Knew Conscious Gallery

AM was on hand at Knew Conscious for the October 11th opening of Thick With Instinct, the latest work from Denver artist CT Nelson. This is his third solo show in as many years at the gallery, and as with previous years, fans will note his signature raging fields of flowing lights and haunting imagery. One of the stars of the Denver art scene, his annual show always draws a big crowd of enthusiastic viewers. The show is on display now through November 7th.
