Releases: Inauguration Print – Shepard Fairey

Shepard Fairey’s new print made especially for Barack Obama’s inauguration is now available from the Inaugural Store. There are two versions unsigned for $100 (24 x 36″ numbered 1001-9999 with 8500 available), signed for $500 (24 x 36″ limited to 1000 with 750 available). Discuss Shepard Fairey here.

Dalek @ Redux Contemporay

A site-specific installation by Dalek is scheduled to open to the public on January 23rd (6-10pm) at the Redux Contemporary Art Center with Dalek in attendance. We wonder if his “space monkeys” will be making an appearance although they have been seen less and less in his work. We recently came across this picture of Anthony Lister working on an etching for an upcoming release from Paper Monster scheduled for this month.  No details yet as to the edition size, price, or even the image, but from the looks of it, the print will most likely be of the painting seen below that was shown by New Image Art at Art Basel week. Gary “Danger” Baseman has landed in Tel-Aviv in preparation for the January 8th opening of his latest solo exhibition at Israel’s Urbanix Gallery. (previously teased). Teaser: Brandt Peters @ Gallery 1988 LA

Brandt Peters’ show “Cackle Factory” opens on February 3rd at Gallery 1988 LA. Thought we would drop a little teaser of what he has been working on for those interested. Looking at his paintings, we are always reminded of the stylings of Jessica Rabbit, perhaps because Brandt draws from his background as a illustrator, character, film, and animation designer.  His masked misfist, deviant animal characters, and unique color palette sets him apart, and we are looking forward to this new body of work.
