Releases: Tim Biskup – Disco Tree Print

Tim Biskup recently posted on his blog about a print that Dance Right is releasing that is a variation on his “Tree of Life” print.Â It’s a collaboration because MFG took the original image (seen below) and altered it (seen above).Â Pretty affordable as prints go for $35.Â Details after the jump.

We recently showed you the stunning mural done by Conor Harrington for the “Outsiders” show at The New Art Gallery Walsall. Well, here are some more photos of the other artwork for you to peruse. Gen Art Vanguard Art Fair Show @ Carmichael Gallery

On display through January 1st, the Carmichael Gallery has installed the body of work they exhibited at the recent Gen Art Vanguard New Contemporary Art Fair at Basel Week (Miami) (previewed). Openings: Yoshitomo Nara @ Blum & Poe

Last night marked the opening of Yoshitomo Nara’s solo show at Blum & Poe (previewed and teased). The show features a large scale sculptural installation, and a new series of paintings and drawings focusing on Nara’s signature pastel-hued girls. At the center of the exhibition was a prairie-style wagon installation by YNG, a collaboration between Yoshitomo Nara and Japanese design firm Graf. Conor Harrington @ The New Art Gallery Walsall

Conor Harrington recently posted up images of the monstrous 16 x 85 feet wall he painted for the “Outsiders” show at The New Art Gallery Walsall. This work, whichÂ took Conor only nine days to finish, includes images ofÂ soldiers, a bull, a duke, a bishop and a Blood and is aptly entitled “The Masters of the Universe.”Â We don’t think it’s removable so we hope this is never painted over. Scion Installation 5 @ Basel Week Miami

Scion’s renowned “Installation Art Tour” is now in its 5th successful year of showcasing emerging and established artists nationwide across various mediums: video, painting, photography, and etc. After its first successful stop in Detroit, the traveling tour made a huge splash in Miami during Basel Week. The Brooklyn Museum recently announced the launching of a new type of museum membership program that builds on the popularity and connectivity of online social networking sites, such as Facebook and Twitter. Called 1stfans, the program gives members access to the museum’s First Saturday events, where they will be able to meet and interact with other members and museum staff. A spirited crowd came out last night for the opening of “The Piece Process” at Anonymous Gallery on New York’s Lower East Side. The concept: connect pop/urban/graffiti/street artists from the last fifty years through an exhibition of their sketches, studies and preliminary works. On Friday, December 19th, TIME Magazine will release its “Person of the Year” issue. The winner… President Elect Barack Obama. He will get the cover of the magazine of course, but what image/photograph did Time use?
