Openings: Tim Biskup – “I Hate Everyone But You” @ De La Barracuda

Friday night saw the opening of Tim Biskups’ “I Hate Everyone But You” exhibition (previewed) in Melrose at De La Barracuda. Featuring paintings, sculptures, prints, and toys from the creator of the Helper, the comprehensive show was enjoyed by all. Preview: Doktor A – “Freak Machanique” @ Lift Gallery

Doktor A, who is considered by many to be one of the pre-eminent “customizers” out there, is opening his show “Freak Machanique” tonight in Detroit. Baby Tattooville ’09: Buff Monster

Releases: Brandi Milne – Humpty Dumpty Plushes

Brandi Milne recently put up these hand-crafter and hand-painted Humpty Dumpty plushes up for sale on her website.  She states that she was inspired by “the character Humpty Dumpty and Alice In Wonderland’s Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum” when creating these.  She is currently hard at work on her next solo show scheduled for June 2010. Releases: KAWS Gray 4FT Dissected Companion

AM has just received information on the release of KAWS‘ Gray 4FT Dissected Companion, the second in his series of towering, anatomically exposed vinyl creations. Not for the faint of heart or the spatially deprived, these monsters will be set loose at the end of the month to those lucky few OriginalFake account holders. Releases: David Choe – “Choegal Siamese Twin”

Next week, David Choe will be dropping the latest and arguably the illest version of his “Choegal” art figure, this time re-versioned as a Siamese twin. Openings: Kokeshi Show @ Japanese American National Museum

The Japanese American National Museum is holding an exhibition (previewed) until October 4th about all things “Kokeshi.”  However, the highlight of the show were the custom kokeshi’s created by many of the artists that we at AM enjoy.  It’s not often we see such an extensive list of quality artists in a group show, let alone a customs show.
