Streets: Nychos @ Livin’ Streets Festival (Austria)

Austrian street artist Nychos recently painted a new mural for the Livin’ Streets Festival (curated by INOPERAbLE) in his hometown of Graz. Bringing Puff, the Magic Dragon to life on the side of a tall building, The Weird crew member made sure to add his dissected touch to the beast. Previews: “Summer Mixer” @ Joshua Liner Gallery

This Thursday night, July 17th, it’s time again for Joshua Liner Gallery to put on their Summer Mixer group exhibition, a look at some artists making their debut with the New York showspace. Included in this show are works from Andrew Schoultz, Erin M. Riley, Guy Yanai, Kristen Schiele, Michael Theodore, Sam Friedman, and Robert Larson (whose work can be seen above featuring repurposed discarded tobacco packaging that he finds on the streets). Basel Week HK ’14: Ryan McGinley @ Galerie Perrotin (Hong Kong)

While in town Basel Week Hong Kong, we made sure to stop by the local branch of Galerie Perrotin to take in the work of Ryan McGinley. Vertical Color of Sound is a nice introduction of the New York-based artist to fans in Asia as it features a election of his different series of work. Upcoming: Barry McGee, Dan Murphy, Isaac T. Lin – “Department of Neighborhood Services” @ Fleisher/Ollman Gallery

On April 11th, the Fleisher/Ollman Gallery in Philadelphia will be opening a three person show starring Barry McGee, Dan Murphy (part of Steve Powers’ ICY Signs), and Isaac T. Lin (DFW zines). Entitled Department of Neighborhood Services, the exhibition will reunite the three friends who all have an interest in graffiti and all who have shown together before.
