Streets: Banksy (Calais “Jungle” Refugee Camp)

Today on the interwebs, Banksy shared his latest series of works created at the migrant encampment in Calais, France. The timely stenciled pieces that appeared in the so called “jungle” refugee camp features commentary on the crisis like the one seen above reminding us that Steve Job’s biological father was a Syrian migrant. The elusive street artist further states – “We’re often led to believe migration is a drain on the country’s resources but Steve Jobs was the son of a Syrian migrant. Apple is the world’s most profitable […]

It features strong associations and fresh, never-before-seen pieces from the artist’s studio to each gallery’s booths. Galleries and artists exhibiting in this sector include Michael Jon […]

Basel Week Miami ’15: Art Basel Miami Beach // Positions Sector

One of the biggest criticisms of art fairs leveled by art lovers is that it is not the proper venue for properly conceived and realized artist exhibitions. Fair booths typically contain a collection of discrete works that are made to be sold and consumed. Art Basel Miami Beach’s Positions sector is the response to this criticism. The galleries that show in this part of the fair are given a platform for a single artist to present one major project. This includes installations or exhibitions that include multiple works […]
