About month ago we introduced the new charity art auction website solidARTy.org. After a successful launch and donations by many artists from around the globe, the project seems to be growing bigger and better by the day. Openings: Peter Baracchi – “This Never Happened” @ SOON Gallery

Last month, Peter Baracchi opened a new show at the Zurich location of SOON Gallery entitled This Never Happened. The title references nicely the nature of the locally-based artist’s work which is inspired by the graffiti buffs in Switzerland. The country is known to be neat, clean, and tidy place and so it is, the painting over of illegal tags and art on the streets is done with tape to get perfectly straight lines resulting in strange geometric shapes. James Jean – Apple Pencil // Ipad Pro

Gifted artist James Jean (interviewed) recently was recruited by Apple to promote their new Pencil stylus which pairs nicely with the newly released iPad Pro. Jean put the novel technology to good use by drawing his amazing imagery directly onto the tablet, which you can see in the images included here. Last week, Unit London hosted the opening of a group show curated by the founder of Paintguide, Henrik Uldalen. Basel Week Miami ’15: Snarkitecture x NetJets Aircraft Bombardier

After creating a nice installation and store last year (covered) for Basel Week Miami, Snarkitecture is back with a new project for 2015 that they just unveiled at the Miami International Airport. The New York design studio established by Alex Mustonen and artist Daniel Arsham collaborated with Netjets to paint over one of their signature series global 5000 aircraft to mimic the concept of an ombre sky, the occurrence seen when flying at dawn or dusk when the horizon appears to be graded in color. Releases: Faile – “Savage Sacred Young Minds” Print Portfolio

Earlier today, Faile (featured) announced the preorder availability of their Savage Sacred Young Minds print portfolio at special price of $3000. The images are taken from pieces in the Brooklyn-based duo’s Brooklyn Museum show earlier in the summer including Night Bender, Almost Rapture, Eastern Suspenso, Bad Seeds, Invasion Dream Club, and Off On a Fast One. Fans can also purchase these prints individually as they are released (first one here), but Off On a Fast On will only be available in the set. Head over here if you are interested. Basel Week Miami ’15 / Showing: SCOPE

One of the first satellite fairs we hit during Basel Week Miami was SCOPE Miami, situated nicely in their pavilion on the beach off Ocean Drive. Celebrating its 15th anniversary edition with 120 international exhibitors from 22 countries and 57 cities, the fair had something for everyone including this Suck Face bronze from D*Face seen above and the Felipe Pantone installation seen directly below. On the 1st of December, YoungArts Foundation hosted a book release, signing, and exhibition by Daniel Arsham, one of the events surrounding Basel Week Miami. Fictional Archaeology is the NY-based artist’s latest book with the first copies signed and sold to visitors of his current show in Miami, The Future Was Written. Including some 2,000 chalk objects, typical Arsham future artifacts, this interactive exhibition invites visitors to use them to leave their own cave drawings or hieroglyphics.
