In December, Cai Guo-Qiang opened his latest exhibition at Fundación Proa in Buenos Aires, his first solo showing in Argentina. Impromptu is a new series of works inspired by his time in the country, which has been at the same time baffling, illuminating, and liberating for his artistic vision. On January 15th, Christian Rex van Minnen will be opening a solo at Robischon Gallery in Denver, Colorado. Titled Golden Memes, the show will be presenting his take on the memes and visual leitmotifs of the Dutch Golden Age and other European Old Master works. Releases: James Jean – “Flash” Print Set

On Thursday, January 15th, James Jean (interviewed) will be releasing a pair of offset-lithograph prints entitled Flash. Each set come with an additional booklet of temporary tattoos that mirror the imagery seen in the prints. The size of the editions will be 24″ x 16″ and comes in a run of 1000, costing $100. It looks like Mars-1 & Damon Soule recently collaborated with Smokovich Designs to create some limited edition jewelry for the fashion conscious art fans out there. Dubbed the Furtherrr Collection after the art collective the two Bay Area-based artists are part of, the line features pendants, necklaces, and earrings created based off their artwork and drawings.
