CAC Málaga, in collaboration with the British Council, recently opened up the first solo exhibition in Spain from D*Face (interviewed). The London-based artist’s work was seen for the first time in Málaga in 2013 when he created an immense mural for the MAUS Project (covered) along with Shepard Fairey. Taking part in the ongoing Maus Malaga 2015, street art legend Kenny Scharf just spent a few days on the Mediterranean, getting up some of his signature work. Working on the east side of the river Guadalmedina, the LA-based artist added his work to a local wall of fame, along with Ben Eine, Felipe Pantone, Javi Calleja, under the massive murals by D*Face and Shepard Fairey. Upcoming: Cleon Peterson – “Poison” @ Library Street Collective

Provocative painter Cleon Peterson has worked with the Library Street Collective before like during last year’s Art Basel Week in Miami (covered). Their new collaborative effort, a show entitled Poison, will be opening on August 29 at the LSC gallery space in Detroit and will no doubt feature more powerful and barbaric imagery from the former assistant to Shepard Fairey, drawing from his experiences and dark past. After sharing the first set of photos from Urban Nation for the 8th phase (curated by StolenSpace) of their public arts program featuring Shepard Fairey, D*Face, Cyrcle., and Word To Mother painting four columns of a building, we now turn our attention to Maya Hayuk. For her part, the American artist worked amongst other murals painted before for the project, leaving her signature nterlocked stripes of color for her fans in Berlin to enjoy.
