Over the last several days, we have brought you photos of Kenny Scharf’s (interviewed) in-progress piece for the West Hollywood Library Project as well as RETNA’s (featured) facade work on the opposite wall. Reuniting three major players from the Art in the Streets exhibition, this latest release from OBEY Giant features the photography of Martha Cooper (interviewed) of a wall with Shepard Fairey (featured) and COPE’s work on it, all distilled through Shep’s distinctive filter. Another street artist featured in MOCA’s Art in the Streets show was none other than Shepard Fairey (featured). Again teaming up with Jeffery Deitch (Shep was the final exhibition at Deitch Projects), the prolific artist created a tightly focused room that revealed new canvases based off of previously “beautified” locations. Charity / Releases: Shepard Fairey – “Dark Wave / Rising Sun” Print

Set to release online at a random time tomorrow, March 24th, is Shepard Fairey’s (featured) new print, Dark Wave / Rising Sun. Although the image may be a little foreboding for some collectors’ taste, the proceeds do go to a good cause – the relief efforts in Japan. The run will be 700, size 18″ x 24″, and priced at $60. On Saturday night, Shepard Fairey (featured) opened his latest exhibition Revolutions at Los Angeles’ Robert Berman Gallery.
