Word has now leaked that Mr. Obey will take a similar route as his friend and fellow street artist across the pond, Banksy, and get into film. Fairey will be teaming up with Ron Howard and Brian Grazer’s Imagine Entertainment to attempt to bring Orwell’s seminal literary work, which certainly shares many of the themes seen in the LA-based […]

We saw him push through a number of mediums, from his detailed hand-painted wheatpastes to his newer stencils without tire. Check out all the action captured for us by Joe Russo after the jump.

Shepard Fairey Cover: Time Person of the Year – The Protester

Shepard Fairey (featured) has designed the latest cover of TIME magazine for their Person of the Year issue which this year honors the “Protester”. If you remember, Mr. Obey also created the cover for the 2008 rendition where the annual award went to President Obama. The choice for this year is certainly a representation of world events from Arab Spring to Occupy Wall Street, activism has hit an all-time high in recent memory and who better to commemorate this than an artist who is a […]

Over the weekend, Shepard Fairey (featured) and the Obey crew continued their large scale projects by pasting over the famed Barracuda wall. Last time we saw Fairey working on this wall was late last year when he collaborated with  SABER (interviewed) on a dual rendering of the American Flag (covered). This time around, Fairey has decided to use his name and recognition as a way to highlight and bring attention to a political cause affecting Native Americans. This latest mural is actually a collaborative piece between Fairey […]
