Openings: C215 – “Smoke Gets in Your Eyes” @ Shooting Gallery

Last Saturday, Shooting Gallery opened the doors to Parisian street stencil artist, C215’s latest solo show, Smoke Gets in Your Eyes (previewed). The show is inspired by cigarette iconography and advertisements that lie and typically depict affluent people enjoying a smoke in order to sell their products to the common folk and working class. Releases: Mia Araujo – “Sleeping Sickness” Print

Tomorrow afternoon, December 15th, at 1pm (Pacific Time), Mia Araujo (interviewed) will be releasing her Sleeping Sickness print in two editions, both signed and numbered. The more limited version will be larger at 16″ x 24″, priced at $150, and in a run of 25.  The smaller one (8″ x 12″) will be limited to 75 and cost $65. Shepard Fairey Cover: Time Person of the Year – The Protester

Shepard Fairey (featured) has designed the latest cover of TIME magazine for their Person of the Year issue which this year honors the “Protester”. SFMOMA Expansion by snøhetta

Last year, we mentioned briefly that the SFMOMA was looking for an architect to design their expansion project. It looks like not only have they found the firm for the job, snøhetta, the museum is also well into their planning stages for the large adjacent exhibition and educational space with a roofline that will be sculpted to frame the skyline of the surrounding buildings. Streets: Ericailcane (Italy)

Fans of Ericailcane in his home country have again been blessed by another storybook mural – this time in Ravenna, Italy.
