If you remember, we previously reported on the limited edition and intricate Lady Butterfly sculpture (produced by Tomenosuke Sho-ten) from Aiko Nakagawa earlier this year. The pervasive Sheffield street artist Phlegm is at it again, this time in Croatia. After recently endowing the streets of London with a steampunk-inspired flying machine, he bestows the Balkans with the longest, most technologically superior seeing device ever. Last week in San Francisco, Alex Lukas brought his post-apocalyptic visions to the Guerrero Gallery, featuring submerged metropolis, overgrown skyscrapers, and derelict cities. Utilizing a complex technique on paper that includes ink, acrylic, watercolor, gouache and silk screen, the Philadelphia based artist paints a desolate future where humans may play no part, focusing on the fragility of our modern society. Streets: Jeff Soto (France)

Jeff Soto (interviewed) is currently in Lyon, France prepping for the  Les Enfants TERRIBLES satellite exhibition during Lyon Biennale week. While there, he is continuing to exercise his renewed love for mural work with this feline piece in a nearby park, which was inspired by a local chat (cat) that was hanging out as well as something for the local kids. Streets: WK Interact – “Project Brave”

Over the weekend, New Yorker’s received a new mural to commemorate the 10th Anniversary of 9/11, courtesy of WK Interact. Project Brave is a huge 328 foot wall piece located on Kent Avenue (between North 4th & North 5th Streets) that paid tribute to the firefighters and memorialized the tragedy through the kinetic imagery of the NY-based street artist and will be on display until October 11th. Fame Festival ’11: Escif

Escif recently made the stop in Grottaglie for some last minute additions as the Fame Festival opening will roll around in the next couple weeks (see other artists who have already have done their part here).
