Video: David Ellis “Musical Trash” Installation

David Ellis must be one of the most versatile artists out there with his multifaceted approach to art. You may remember his work as a street artist in the impressive “graffiti-animation” video he did with Blu at the Fame Festival last year. Or perhaps you enjoyed his gallery work for New Image Art last summer? What stands out most for us recently though was the the huge trash sound installation we experienced that he created for the Anonymous Gallery booth at the SCOPE art fair […]

Streets: Vhils in Moscow

After his work in Italy for the Fame Festival and in the UK for the Grifter’s group show, it looks like Vhils has moved on to Russia. Moscow seems like a popular target as Mark Jenkins’ work was recently spotted there as well. As you can see, Vhils uses his unique chiseling technique to create this special piece for all Muscovites to enjoy. More images after the jump…

Streets: Blu in Buenos Aires

For those of you following Blu’s blog, you already know that he is working on a new stop-motion animation in Buenos Aires. No doubt, this newest video from the Italian street artist will be just as fantastic, if not better, than the original groundbreaking “Muto” and the followup collaboration “COMBO” he did with David Ellis for last year’s FAME Festival. A closer look after the jump…

Video: Will Barras, Ericailcane, DEM – Stay Away from Light

In a continuing effort to increase European-Japanese artistic relations, the non-profit modern performing art organization, Original Cultures, has just released their latest project starring visual artists Will Barras (UK), Ericailcane (IT) and DEM (IT), as well as musical artists Om Unit (UK), Tatsuki (JP) and Tayone (IT). Over the course of four days last June in Bologna, these six artists collaborated, albeit separately, on the visual and musical aspects of this video. After the four days, the video was unveiled with live musical accompaniment. Expect […]

Streets: Blu in Bogota

Blu is one of those street artists that always makes an effort to create pieces that are socially relevant to the area he is working in (ie Milan and Taranto). Combine this with superior artistic skills, his flair for black humor, and an imagination that knows no limits, it’s no surprise he has become the superstar that he is today. Here we see his newest piece put up in Bogota, Colombia for “Memoria Canalla.” Don’t you love the imagery of a credit card getting a […]

Streets: Mark Jenkins in Moscow

An interesting piece from Mark Jenkins has appeared in Moscow… It’s nice to see his tape sculptures continue to evolve and grow. Take at look at some of his previous outdoor work here and here. You can also see more of his work on his website. Via TWBE. Discuss Mark Jenkins here.

Releases: Slinkachu – “The High Life”

The last time we saw Slinkachu, he was busy in a Grottaglie alleyway creating his largest work yet for the FAME Festival (covered).  Well, looks like the photographer/street artist is back with a new release which he also created in Italy, this time the installation “was placed near the local fly-tipping area and dog pound – the high life indeed!”  This latest print is available in either small or large formats, through Studiocromie and Andipa Gallery respectively. More detail and location shots after the jump.

Video: Blu Mural @ Deitch Studios

Apparently, Blu is already hard at work again after finishing his time-intensive “graffiti animation” video “Combo” collaboration with David Ellis for this year’s Fame Festival. This time, he’s in NY, for a large mural at Deitch Studios. I guess Deitch is in a generous mood since they just commissioned Os Gemeos for a mural not long ago. Some pics after the jump…

Highlights: Recommended Openings For September 17-23

After the onslaught of openings across the globe last weekend, things have calmed down a bit. Leading the charge this week is the second year of the FAME Festival in Italy. If you’ve been following our coverage of the show thus far, you already know it is by far the place to be this weekend and as always, keep it locked on AM for coverage of the opening night events. Check out the full details for the FAME Festival and all the other shows going off […]

Streets: Blu in Milan

Looks like Italian street artist Blu has struck again, this time in Milan. It was only just recently that we saw him working in Grottaglie (here, here, and here) on his part for the FAME Festival this year. He apparently also had time to get this huge mural up giving bicylists a little chance for payback as you see them crush cars in their path. More images after the jump.
