As we first told you in our article about JR’s participation in this year’s Fame Festival, he is starting a new series of work in for his “Unframed” project. The idea is to take works of other famous photographers and install them somewhere different and unexpected, allowing them to take new meaning when discovered by passerby’s. Over the course of the last year, we were able to see bits and pieces of the new graffiti-animation that Blu has been working on. Looks like all that hard work has paid off in a stunning new video – “Big Bag Big Boom”. According to Lazarides, Vhils and JR have both taken time out from their busy schedule (Vhils – Fame Fest, JR – Cannes Festival & Germany) to travel to Los Angeles to prepare for their upcoming show. French photographer and activist JR will be opening his first show in Germany soon at the newly opened Gallery Springmann.Varol (formed with AM contributor Selim Varol) in Duesseldorf. The exhibition will be another showing of JR’s project, “Women Are Heroes”, (previously seen in Paris and London), which is also the subject of his film recently nominated for the Golden Camera at the Cannes Festival.
