Streets: Anthony Lister in London

Directly following the opening of his installation at NYC’s Standard Hotel, Australian artist Anthony Lister (interviewed) hauled across the pond to visit London for a few days. AM contributor Patrick Nguyen caught up with him on Friday for a chat and to take some photographs as Lister spray painted two shutters and the adjoining pillar at Pictures On Walls on Commercial Street. Does this mean a POW / Lister edition is on the cards? We’ll have to wait and see… Painting began shortly after 4:30 […]

Another Update: Josh Keyes – “Collision” @ David B. Smith Gallery

We couldn’t resist posting another teaser pic that is possibly (there’s a good chance it’s a commission piece also due to its size) for Josh Keyes‘ (interviewed) upcoming show at David B. Smith Gallery. This monster piece (perhaps 120″ x 40″?) looks to be an further exploration of the “Sowing” concept that we first saw in his Swarm Gallery show last year. We can’t wait to see the completed piece when the show “Collision” opens in November. Discuss Josh Keyes here.

Studio Visits: Brian Viveros

As we mentioned last week, we recently had the chance to stop by Brian Viveros’ Riverside studio for a visit to talk to him about a show we had been looking forward to for a while now. “The Dirtyland” opens this Saturday night (note that it’s not the usual Friday opening) at Thinkspace Gallery and will be a comprehensive exhibition of Brian’s artistic vision. The artist, based in the beautiful IE, is known for his smoking hot girls, often battered and bruised, but still maintaining […]

Streets: Os Gemeos (Lithuania)

Sounds like the Os Gemeos brothers made a trip to Northern Europe recently to trace their ancestry. Their grandfather was originally from Lithuania before immigrating to Brazil and you can read the full story on their most recent blog post. Nice to see things come full circle as they left their mark in Vilnius and Kaunas. A couple more images after the jump…

Along the way, only armed with a knife, the wiley cat encounters other creatures as well as some ghosts! We’ve been enjoying Deth’s charming characters and imagery […]
