Previews: Adrian Cox – “Sensory Garden” @ beinArt Gallery

Following up on his showing with two other artists last year at beinArt Gallery, Adrian Cox will be opening a show on June 3rd. For his first solo in Australia, the St. Louis-based artist has created a new body of work entitled Sensory Garden, oil paintings featuring his signature “Border Creatures,” hybrid creatures that live in the the wilderness of the “Borderlands.” Each character is an amalgamation of the environment around them including flora, fauna, and crystallized mineral deposits. On December 10th, beinArt Gallery will be opening a new three person show entitled Myth and Mutation featuring the work of Adrian Cox, Christopher Ulrich, and Amanda Sage. We are looking forward to Cox’s lush paintings in particular, featuring his grotesque humanoid forms which appear to be created from amalgamations of the natural world and other organic material.
