It’s hard to believe it’s already been five years since one of our favorite magazines released their first issue. Just like Jonathan LeVine Gallery last month (covered), Hi-Fructose is celebrating their five year anniversary with a group show with artists that have been featured in their publication since the very beginning. We recently told you about an upcoming show, book release, and signing tour from Camille Rose Garcia surrounding her new illustrated Alice in Wonderland book. Part deux of the 2010 Group Exhibition at David B. Smith Gallery opens tonight in Denver. Just like the first edition, this show features a stellar lineup of artists including Josh Agle aka SHAG (interviewed), Jud Bergeron, Kris Lewis (interviewed), MARS-1, Niall McClelland, Amy Sol (interviewed), Cole Sternberg and Jason Thielke (interviewed). One of the first annual group shows at g1988, the Luke Chueh (interviewed) co-curated exhibition focuses on artists who employ animals in their work to convey the human condition. We stopped by to check out the opening of Amy Sol’s (interviewed) show “The Wilderness Buffet” in the large room at Copro Gallery last weekend. While taking in Sol’s new body of work, one can’t help but get drawn into her world of soft colors and and serene landscapes. After previewing some of Nicoletta Ceccoli’s (interviewed) pieces in the fantastic upcoming three-person show at Copro Gallery, we turn to Amy Sol (interviewed) and her “Wilderness Buffet.” She’ll be bringing some of her largest works to date as well as some hand finished prints for her part in this Saturday’s show.
