Releases: James Jean – TMNT Figures

Going back to his comic book roots, James Jean (interviewed) revealed a project over the weekend at New York Comic Con that he has been working on with Good Smile. The Japanese manufacturer of hobby products is teaming up with Nickelodeon and Jean to create new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles figures based on his illustrations. Pre-orders will start up in November beginning with Leonardo, with the remaining three set to be released in next year. Via Hypebeast. Discuss James Jean here.

Baby Tattooville ’14: Secret Store

Every edition of Baby Tattooville includes a “Secret Store” where attendees (in order of their seniority at the event) are allowed to purchase art merchandise and even original works form the participating artists. The highlight of this year’s setup were paintings that were used for this year’s print set including an stunning piece from Joe Sorren (seen above). Fashion: Yoskay Yamamoto x Big Bad Wolf Tee Release

Some of our friends behind POW! WOW! recently started Big Bad Wolf with the goal of bringing street inspired fashion, art and culture down to the little ones. Their current plan is to release a limited edition artist tee once a month and kickstarting things is a design by Yoskay Yamamoto (interviewed). Fashion: Sterling Ruby x Raf Simons x Kate Moss

Kate Moss, who has been a muse for many an artist, was recently decked out in new Sterling Ruby painted parkas and photographed for AnOther Magazine. The paint-splattered limited edition garments, which would apparently cost you about the price of a car, are part of Dior creative director Raf Simons’ Fall/Winter 2014 collection. Openings: Shepard Fairey x Hennessy – VS Cognac Bottle Launch (NYC)

Last week, we shared some photos with our readers of Shepard Fairey’s (featured) new mural in NYC for the L.I.S.A. Project. During his time in New York, he also hosted the official NYC launch of his signature design for this year’s Hennessy V.S Limited Edition artist bottle at ARENA. Releases: KAWS x Pharrell – G I R L Fragrance

With the opening of his Los Angeles exhibition scheduled in less than three weeks, KAWS will give the public another high profile look at his imagery with the launch of Pharrell’s fragrance “G I R L” this week. Released by Commes des Garçons online at Dover Street Market on August 28th and in-store in London on September 1st, the signature scent features a design by KAWS and will continue the long standing friendship (collector, curator) between the singer-songwriter and New York-based artist. Shepard Fairey x Hennessy – VS Cognac Bottle Launch (Los Angeles)

A little over a week ago, Hennessy held the Los Angeles launch of their latest artist created V.S Limited Edition bottle at the Create nightclub. Created by Shepard Fairey (featured), the new version featuring his distinctive OBEY imagery joined the line of previous collaborations with Futura (covered) & KAWS (covered), and Os Gemeos (covered). Releases: Mark Ryden – “Daisy” Brooch

For those that missed Mark Ryden’s magnificent recent Los Angeles showing (covered) at Kohn Gallery, here’s your chance to own a piece of the action.
