Teaser: Thinkspace Five Year Anniversary Show

It’s not often you see three girls from Audrey Kawasaki (interviewed) in one painting, but it’s a special occasion. Thinkspace will be hosting their Five Year Anniversary show on November 6th, celebrating with a full roster of artists that we have come to love.  Alot has happened in the time they have been existence, including a recent move to Culver City.  We’ll have a full preview soon, but for now, check out the list of artists after the jump…

Preview: SugiPOP! @ Portsmouth Museum of Art

One of the most exciting shows we’ve recalled writing about that takes place in New Hampshire is coming up.  SugiPOP! is co-curated by Beau Basse of LeBasse Projects and will take up residence at the Portsmouth Museum of Art.  It is an exhibition centered around Sugi (meaning “too much”), which is contemporary art inspired by anime, manga and comics.  It includes paintings, drawings, sculptures, videos and original artwork used to make anime films and manga comics. Baby Tattooville ’10 – Secret Store by Paris to the Moon

Baby Tattooville attendees more often than not are also collectors and lovers of art products. As such, one of their favorite BT activities is shopping at the Secret Store that pops up every yearly gathering. Teaser: Audrey Kawasaki – “Tangled” @ Outre Gallery (Sydney, Melbourne, Perth)

For those of you who have been waiting with baited breath since Audrey Kawasaki’s (interviewed) show in NY (covered) for a new body of work, it’s almost time. Next month in Australia, she’ll be splitting her 10 new original paintings between Outre Gallery’s two locations in Melbourne (10/22) and Sydney (10/29) along with a print only show in Perth (11/5). She’ll be in attendance for the Melbourne and Sydney openings only, so stop by if you want to meet her. Discuss Audrey Kawasaki here.

Releases: Audrey Kawasaki – “Migawari” Print

For those Audrey Kawasaki (interviewed) fans out there, if you haven’t heard already, scheduled for later today is a rare print release from the LA-based artist. At 1:00 PM Pacific Time, “Migawari” will be available on her webstore (pre-registration required) with a framed and unframed option. Those Audrey Kawasaki (interviewed) brooches that made us the envy of all our art friends are finally available as a general release this Saturday, July 17th at 3 pm (Pacific Time). Originally released only to attendees of Baby Tattooville 2009 (where we got ours), these momentos will be limited to 1200 from Audrey’s website were you need to register in order to by one. Preview: “The Next Generation” Group Show @ London Miles Gallery

The largely USA based new contemporary art movement continues it’s assault on the UK next week with “The Next Generation” opening Friday June 11th at London Miles Gallery.
