Just hours ago, the PRISM gallery in Los Angeles opened their doors to graffiti royalty Barry McGee’s solo showing and the multitude of fans, collectors, and well-wishers who turned up to take in the new body of work. Time flies. The opening reception for Bay Area legend Barry McGee’s exhibition at the PRISM Gallery in Los Angeles is almost here. Fans in the area better make plans to be there tomorrow night, May 11th (6-9 pm) as solo shows from Mr. Twist in Southern Cal are pretty rare, especially with the potential of the architectural showspace that he will be able to install his work in at his leisure. There’s not much info out on this, but thought we would mention it for our readers in the Bay Area tonight (April 14th). Barry McGee, who’s a legend up there, will be revealing an installation at Gallery Paule Anglim’s offsite space (1717 17th Street in San Francisco’s Potrero Hill district) along with some other invited artists. On Saturday afternoon, Steve “ESPO” Powers and Todd “REAS” James hosted an dizzying one-day reinterpretation of their legendary Street Market exhibition, without Barry McGee, at ICY Signs in Brooklyn. ICY was Powers and crew’s 5400 sq. feet downtown sign-painting studio on Livingston Street while working on his Brooklyn Love Letters project (covered).
