Preview: Bäst – “Germs Tropicana” @ Opera Gallery (NYC)

As we mentioned in our recent feature on Bäst’s collaboration with Greek olive oil brand Eléia, he has a show opening this week at the Opera Gallery in New York. Preview: “Streets of the World” @ Opera Gallery (NY)

Streets: World Roundup (March 5 – March 11)

Starting off this week’s roundup is this new stencil from Bast seen on the streets of New York. This is the first we have shown you from him since his collaboration with Aiko at the end of last year. Openings: “The Boneyard Project : Return Trip” @ Pima Art & Space Museum

Last weekend, the outdoor fields and indoor hanger Pima Art and Space Museum in Tucson, Arizona were the venues for the hand-painted vintage planes of The Boneyard Project: Return Trip. Streets: World Roundup (Jan 9 – Jan 15)

Well, hope everyone survived Friday the 13th. If so, you are will be able to enjoy this week’s roundup of work on the streets. Leading the charge is a series of new murals in an abandoned tower by Sheffield-based artist Phlegm. You can see the rest of them here. Streets: Wynwood Walls Update (Miami)

It looks like Wynwood Walls is kicking off things early this year because just after RETNA hit up his wall in Miami, ROA, Gaia, Nunca, HOW & NOSM, the Date Farmers, Faile, and Bast rolled into town to do their thing. Teaser: Bast – “Scenario Del Rio” @ The Outsiders – Newcastle

As a regular collaborator with Faile (see Los Angeles, Brooklyn, Deluxx Fluxx Arcade), Brooklyn-based Bast hasn’t had many solo projects recently. All that will change next month as he will be unveiling a new solo exhibition in the UK at The Outsiders in Newcastle. The new body of work is entitled Scenario Del Rio and with the showcard sporting an intriguing image, we’ll be looking forward to seeing what he has planned for his fans. Discuss Bast here.

Streets: Faile (Los Angeles)

Faile (featured), the Brooklyn-based artist collective, have revealed new work on the streets just a few blocks away (Gjelina Restaurant) from the Post No Bills Gallery in Venice, California where they are exhibiting a collection of work detailing their artistic careers (show photos to follow). The wall was covered in the salon style that has been seen in some of their recent street work and also featured a sprinkling of co-conspirator Bast’s imagery. More photos after the jump…
