With artists from around the globe painting on every corner of this lively neighborhood and related events happening at local bars, clubs, galleries and parks, one of the main events was surely going down at Wynwood Walls. This year, the outdoor museum of street art ran by Goldman Properties added a nice new selection of fresh works to their existing collection. The main area got fresh new piece […]

POW! WOW! ’15 / Streets: Case Maclaim x Smithe

Mixing their two different but very compatible styles, Case Maclaim from Germany and Smithe from Mexico created one of the most interesting pieces on this year’s POW! WOW! Hawaii (more coverage here). The imagery they chose was a commentary about the preservation of coral life and the effect of human activity on its future. Smithe painted a detailed illustrative part showing a human head with coral for brains, surrounded with different organic & surrealistic elements and creatures. Case wrapped this image with a series of his recognizable […]

Streets: World Roundup (Oct 13 – Jan 12)

During the winter months, we typically see a slowdown of street activity due to the colder weather. After a brief hiatus, our Streets: World Roundup feature returns with a summary of the intervening months. Leading things off is this Invader (who has a new website) piece that is seen in a new light in the wake of the tragic events that went down recently in the French artist’s home base (photo by tofz4u). Other notable walls come from ROA – Germany (source), Herakut – USA, […]

Je Suis Charlie (Part II)

With some of the perpetrators behind the horrific acts of terror in Paris brought to justice, we can now voice a small sigh a relief although the art world is still reeling from those targeted at Charlie Hedbo. With the weekly newspaper determined to carry on despite what happened, artists around the world continue to show their support for freedom of expression including an interesting contribution from Ai Weiwei (seen above). Take a look at more images below and see Part I of our coverage […]

Basel Week Miami ’14 / Streets: Case (Miami)

Along with a permanent mural at the prestigious Wynwood Walls complex, German street artist case (aka Andreas von Chrzanowski) also made time to paint this beautiful piece in the surrounding area. Dedicated to the courageous Tuğçe Albayrak who was beaten to death just because she tried to save two other girls from beeing molested by some thugs, the wall certainly stood out with the Maclaim crew member’s signature use of hand imagery and photorealistic spray can skills. Take a look at more detailed photos below… See all our […]
