Conor Harrington (interviewed), who has been on a roll with a steady spate of street murals, has uploaded photos of another piece he painted recently entitled Decline of the West. We would have to say that this has a rather nice placement, and although we aren’t sure where it is located, Conor has been spotted around London with this another recent collaboration with Ronzo. Openings: Lazarides Minotaur Event @ The Old Vic Tunnels

A couple nights ago, the Minotaur event put on by Lazarides kicked off at the The Old Vic Tunnels, also the site of 2010′s Hell’s Half Acre exhibition. This time around, the theme was an old Greek legend and depending on your choice for price of admission, dining was included from top Michelin-starred chefs. Of course for us, the art was the focus of the night including offerings from Stanley Donwood, Jonathan Yeo, Antony Micallef, Conor Harrington, Doug Foster, 3D, Ian Francis, ATMA, Michael Najjar […]

He did find time however to paint this wall in London going back to his signature colonial style. More shots from unusualimage after the jump, but also check out some in-progress photos from Hooked Blog here.

Openings / Giveaway: Charming Baker — ‘Every Thing Must Go’ @ Mercer Street Studios, London

Every Thing Must Go (previewed), the new Charming Baker pop-up show in London’s Covent Garden opened on Thursday 7 July. It was a well-organised, confidently-run operation on the night. Guests were looked after by a tag-team of hosts including the artist himself, his manager Tim Fennell, Pat Magnarella and Roger Klein of Pat Magnarella Management, and the Jealous Gallery crew. Art may or may not be the new rock and roll, but both worlds mixed comfortably at the event which was attended by the likes […]

Streets: Conor Harrington (Ireland) Part III

Cork’s most renowned street artist Conor Harrington (interviewed) continued to paint up his homeland with this third wall in a series of murals featuring his views on the “cowboy mentality” in Ireland and the wild west “cavalier bandit attitude” that in his opinion has gotten the country into trouble recently. This last one is in Ennis on the Glor Theatre but also make sure you check out the other two murals here and here. More photos after the jump…

Streets: Conor Harrington (Ireland) Part II

More pics after the jump…

Streets: Conor Harrington – “Black Herds of the Rain” (Ireland) Part I

From our sources, Conor Harrington (interviewed) is getting ready for a big solo in London at the beginning of 2012 and some of his work will eventually make it to the new Lazarides space in Los Angeles. Still, he’s making time for the streets as he takes a break from his studio and his fine art making. This time, he has returned to his home country and decided to paint a rodeo rider being thrown off his bull, a metaphor for his views on the current political […]
