Openings: Geoff McFetridge – “My Head Disappears When My Hands Are Thinking” @ Playmountain

Currently in Japan, Geoff McFetridge has renewed his collaboration with Heath Ceramics for a show at Playmountain. My Head Disappears When My Hands Are Thinking not only features the Los Angeles-based artist’s minimalistic paintings, but also his specially designed ceramic items (also seen 2011 in LA). Upcoming: Rostarr – “Turbo Arena” @ Anonymous Gallery

This Thursday night (February 7th) in Mexico City, the artist known as Rostarr (featured) will be opening a solo show at Anonymous Gallery. Otherwise known as Romon Kimin Yang, the New York-based painter will be bringing with him all new works collectively entitled Turbo Arena, all featuring his signature blend of iconography, calligraphy, and graphics. Preview: Matthew Palladino @ Eli Ridgeway (ARCO Madrid ’13)

Later this month, the ARCOMadrid fair will see Eli Ridgeway display all new works from Matthew Palladino (interviewed) at their booth. Openings: DZINE – “Victory” @ Dallas Contemporary

Chicago-based artist DZINE has recently opened another stunning museum exhibition, this time at the Dallas Contemporary. The show entitled Victory features an impressive selection of new pieces from all the medium’s DZINE is known for, including large-scale mandala paintings, tricked-out cars, ornate chandeliers and other installations. Together, the collection of works leads viewers to examine the human desires for success and recognition, through the lens of the artist’s Puerto Rican background. Victory is on view until March 31. Installations / Previews: David Choong Lee – “Organic Updates” @ 111 Minna

Opening tonight (February 1st) in San Francisco at the 111 Minna Gallery will be a new showing from David Choong Lee. We last witnessed a large body of work (covered) from the SF-based artist back in 2010 in Los Angeles, and in comparison, this new exhibition Organic Updates will also feature more clusters and wall installations created with elements of graffiti, collage, and painting.
