Streets: Mars-1 x Curiot (Nashville)

Last week in Tennessee, Mars-1 (featured) & Curiot decided to work on a mural together for the Nashville Walls Project. Located at the new Nashville Sounds Baseball Park and sponsored by Gibson Custom Division, the new piece sees Curiot adapt his style to mesh nicely with Martinez’s organic otherworldly imagery. On May 28th, Thinkspace Gallery opened a new solo show by Favio Martinez aka Curiot, along with solo shows by James Bullough and UR New York. Recap / Streets: No Limit Borås

After highlighting the mural from DALeast (interviewed) for No Limit Borås in Sweden, we now have a recap of the other works created by the invited artists ranging from painted walls to sculpture to 3D sidewalk art. The city of Borås witnessed Tristan Eaton, Logan Hicks, Pichi&Avo, Joe Iurato, Dulk, INTI, Laurence Vallières, Curiot, Robert Proch (seen above), and David Zinn getting their art on and we have photos of the results below.

Last weekend in Los Angeles, alongside Robert Williams’ amazing new exhibition (covered), a group show celebrating 20 years of Juxtapoz also opened to the public. POW! WOW! ’15 / Openings: Thinkspace – “Exploring The New Contemporary Movement” @ Honolulu Museum Of Art School

Last night, POW! WOW! Hawaii kicked things off with a group show curated by Thinkspace at the Honolulu Museum Of Art School (111 Victoria Street). Streets: Sea Walls: Murals for Oceans – Mexico Expedition

A couple of weeks ago Pangeaseed.org wrapped up another praiseworthy project on the island of Isla Mujeres, Mexico – Sea Walls: Murals for Oceans – Mexico Expedition. For this event that took place from July 20-28, they invited a group of international artists to help raise awareness for the conservation of the ocean.  Similar to what they did with POW! WOW! Hawaii earlier this year (covered), 1xRun.com released a series of limited edition prints along with this event, with 100% of the proceeds going towards funding the programme. As previously announced, Mexican artist Favio Martinez aka Curiot, opened his first solo show in his hometown of Mexico City at Fifty24Mx Gallery on the 14th of June. Titled La Creacion de Nirak’tuh,this show is probably one of the strongest and most elaborate he has worked on. Favio Martínez aka Curiot is opening his first solo show in his homeland at Fifty24Mx gallery in Mexico City on the 14th of June. We recently brought you a look at artists at work on the Urban Nation’s Project M/4 in Berlin, curated by Thinkspace.
