Streets: Shepard Fairey & D*Face (Spain)

Two familiar names in street art, Shepard Fairey (featured) and D*Face (interviewed), united their efforts to paint two massive walls on the side of a building in Malaga, Spain recently. The seven story tall murals next to CAC Malaga were painted on an invite from Maus Málaga as well as from the museum and were representative of both the American and UK-based artist’s styles. Take a look at more in-progress and shots from different angles below… Photos via the artists. Discuss Shepard Fairey here. Discuss D*Face here.

Streets: World Roundup (Oct 21 – Oct 27)

This week’s Streets World Roundup is headlined by the latest piece from Banksy during his month long artist residency on the streets of New York. Painted on Day 28 of the project, this wall in Coney Island muses on what a robot would paint if he was to do graffiti. Take a look at other murals you may have missed from Mr. B earlier in the month here. Other notable walls come from ABOVE – Canada, Mark Jenkins – Germany, Mark Dean Veca – Los […]

Openings: Moniker Art Fair / The Other Art Fair (London)

In a relaxed atmosphere, the crowd was able to enjoy some works from the street and urban art movement. Presenting both young and emerging artists, alongside some established and names, these two fairs were a great opportunity for young […]

In our last article, we shared the trailer for JAY Z’s new video where he performed Picasso Baby, a new track off his new album at the Pace Gallery – now we have the entire video. The long session lasted six hours where the rapper showed his appreciation for art through his lyrics, name dropping left and right. You decide whether it was a “performance art film” as it was billed, but also check out all the artists that […]

Streets: D*Face (London)

Hopefully those in London had a chance to check out the great showing from D*Face (interviewed) at Stolenspace before it closed last weekend. Around the same time, the local street artist found time to get up near the gallery (Commercial Street, across the way from Spitalfields Market) with some of his recent pop imagery. Working through the rain, the water turned out to be a good opportunity to get some photos… Photos via the artist. Discuss D*Face here.
