Openings: “Behind The Berlin Wall” @ Wende Museum

Last Sunday, the Wende Museum officially unveiled to the public its Behind The Berlin Wall project which featured Herakut, D*Face’s (interviewed), and RETNA (featured) painting one side (the East Berlin section) with their murals. The Wende Museum, spearheaded by Justin Jampol, is a collections-based education institute which preserves Cold War artifacts and which conceived of the Wall Project almost two years ago to the date. During this time, the organization brought ten original Berlin Wall segments to the city of Los Angeles and had them […]

Openings: D*Face – “Burn Brighter” @ Metro Gallery

A couple weeks ago, the Metro Gallery opened their doors to the UK-based D*Face’s (interviewed) and a new body of work. Burn Brighter features original pieces and limited editions, his flutter-dies and chopped up books (which were introduced at the Corey Helford show in LA back in April), as well as many of the cheeky installations he has become known for. Some of his recent outdoor work also made a transition indoors including the concrete spraycans seen on the streets of Melbourne and the large […]

Streets: D*Face (Melbourne)

With D*Face’s (interviewed) solo opening tonight at the Metro Gallery, it’s about time we updated you on his work in the streets leading up to the show. From the looks of things, his oversized spray can installations seem to be popular, but check out the other photos of D getting his logo up all over Melbourne, as well as an invitation to join the Order of the Wings. Pics after the jump…

Videos / Streets: D*Face – Moniker Mural (London)

As mentioned in one of our recent Streets World Roundup and London Instagram Roundup articles, D*Face (interviewed) recently painted a mural for this year’s Moniker Art Fair. Well, D just sent over this video (filmed and edited by Rebels Alliance) of the entire process which was interesting as there was some discussson as to who painted over the logo. It looks like he lived up to his name… Also, we’ll have more for you soon as he will be opening a show on November 2nd at […]

Streets: London Instagram Roundup

Since the last London Street Art Roundup, Shoreditch has yet again been buzzing with activity. Much of this is due to Moniker Art Fair hitting Shoreditch for the second year running with a collection of artists around the globe filling the space of Village Underground. A highlight for AM has to be this great piece by Word to Mother (interviewed) on one of the panels outside the show which coincided with his solo show Essence of Adolescence at Stolen Space, alongside Australian duo Dabs Myla […]

Streets: World Roundup Oct 10 – 16

Because the scope of coverage here on AM of street murals & graffiti is steadily expanding, we will be doing a weekly roundup of new work (or work that has not been featured in their own individual articles yet) from around the world. Some of these would have been previously mentioned in our weekly Overtime articles, but since this particular sort of news is so image-based, we will be isolating them out into a separate series for your enjoyment. For our first installment, we focus […]

Streets: London Instagram Roundup

Some great street art surprises have popped up around Shoreditch since the last AM London Instagram Roundup. First up, this brilliant, huge piece by the prolific Sweet Toof and CEPT at Village Underground was exceptionally nice to see. LUDO (featured) has also been getting up with his paste-ups whilst in London for his solo show Metamorphosis at High Roller Society (covered). In addition, Australian artist Ghostpatrol has been busy collaborating with Kid Acne, Ema and Dscreet on an amazing wall in Dalston; and he has also been working with Malarky (a […]
